Blogging made not so easy
First post is still a bit wonky
Blogging is supposed to be easy. I Googled it. Turns out that that is not true when you have no idea what you are supposed to be doing. Who knew that having a blog meant having a website! Not me. I brainstormed for weeks trying to find a name that has not already been taken. Will attribute that to my lack of great right brain thinking. Add another week tinkering about in the dashboard trying to figure out how get this foreign thing to work.
There are many how to guides, but they leave you the moment you must start building your blog. How do I build? Where is the ‘write’ or ‘type’ button. How does one blog? O my word. This process is very frustrating and intimidating to one as technologically impaired as I am. I can Google and Facebook. That is my claim to fame. I hoped that blogging would be easy. A cross between PowerPoint and Facebook. You create and post.Turns out that I had the wool over my eyes. I will probably figure it out once I take that woolen cap of.
I used to love to make cool PowerPoints and with this as a reference I am having a little trouble creating. Apparently to get the better experience you must buy some stuff. Is’n that just like life! Then one has to see in angry red that ‘your sentences are to long’, ‘use less passive voice’, your key word is not in the first paragraph’(but I see it there!) and a host of other stuff that I have no clue how to respond to. What is a picture’s ‘alt attributes’?
Even though I feel clueless now, I feel smarter than yesterday and the days before. This whole running a website thing has a steep learning curve for the clueless like me. I now almost know what a plugin and a dashboard is. However, I have no idea where the contact page queries will go to. To the website’s someplace or other, or to my email? That is just 1 thing that I am trying to figure out.
Like all things, I will eventually figure it out and be in the choir singing praises to the ease of blogging. Not there yet though.
Hence this random post about ‘sukkeling’ to blog.
